Sequence of Punjab Police Recruitment Tests
- Initial Application and Screening:
- Candidates submit their application forms along with necessary documents.
- Screening of applications based on eligibility criteria (like age, education, etc.).
- Physical Standard Test (PST):
- Height Measurement: Candidates must meet the minimum height requirement.
- Chest Measurement (for men): Measurement of chest size, with expansion.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
- This test usually includes the following:
- Running: Men may be required to run 1600 meters within a specific time, and women may need to run 800 meters.
- Long Jump: Candidates must achieve a minimum distance in the long jump.
- High Jump: Candidates must clear a minimum height in the high jump.
- This test usually includes the following:
- Written Examination:
- General Knowledge and Intelligence: Questions on current affairs, basic arithmetic, general science, and logical reasoning.
- Quantitative/Reasoning Ability: Mathematical and reasoning questions.
- Language Proficiency: Test of proficiency in the regional language (e.g., Punjabi) and English.
- Interview:
- Candidates who pass the physical and written tests are called for an interview.
- The interview assesses the candidate’s personality, communication skills, and suitability for the role in the police force.
- Medical Examination:
- A thorough medical check-up to ensure the candidate is medically fit to perform the duties required in the police service.
- Final Merit List:
- Based on performance in all the above stages, a final merit list is prepared.
- Candidates listed in the merit list are usually offered training positions.
- Training:
- Candidates who make it to the final selection will undergo rigorous training at a Police Training College or Academy.
